Have you ever found yourself in a situation when you wanted to articulate something amazing and you could not because your brain shut down for some reasons?

It is amazing how our brain seems to be in our control but it behaves the other way most of the times.

It is because most of the decisions that we make in our lives are somewhere rooted deeply into our subconscious mind. The way we talk, the way we carry ourselves say a lot about us.

NLP helps us to understand ourselves better and be great at this art called Life.

So, NLP is not something that will turn you into someone entirely new rather it will help you improve no matter which field you are working in.

So, you could either be a doctor, corporate lawyer or a sales person. You can improve your attention, productivity and be happier than ever before if you will utilize the NLP techniques.

NLP as the name suggests stands for Neuro Linguistic Programming. Breaking it down for better understanding,

Neuro: It refers to Neurology which means the way we experience our world by using our 5 senses.

Linguistic: Refers to language- means What meaning we give to the experience

Programming: Means how we respond to the experience.

So, NLP will help you learn how to think of events differently, particularly negative experiences which hold you back from taking the next level.

Everyone who learns Neurolinguistic Programming knows the power of these techniques and patterns that employ the skills and knowledge of NLP.

NLP starts with you making conscious efforts in order to implement the NLP tools and techniques but soon with practice and repetition, it fits like the Lego-blocks into your subconscious and sometimes you will often find surprising yourself with new found superpower that you have.

Some of the core concepts of NLP include:

Dissociation: Dissociation teaches you to identify an emotion (anger, fear, sadness hurt, guilt, etc.) and address them in a way that it appears so trivial to you that it becomes easier for you to detach yourself from the negative emotion and make a fresh start.

Reframing: Reframing teaches you to have different perspective to deal with a situation and look more at the positive aspect of the situation. For example, you had a break up with your partner. It is not an easy thing to deal with but if you slightly change your perspective, you will find that whatever happens, happens for good and now you have more options and you are open to be friends with new people and engage in new activities.

Anchoring Yourself: Anchoring yourself helps you to associate a particular, positive emotional response with a particular phrase or sensation. When you choose a positive emotion or thought and deliberately connect it to a simple gesture, you can activate this anchor any time you’re feeling low, and your feelings will immediately start to change.

Establishing Rapport: Establishing Rapport helps you to get along with anyone and improves your communication. It will help you in negotiation and will make you a successful leader and communicator.

Belief Changing: Our limiting beliefs which are rooted deep in our Unconscious mind stop us from taking many major life decisions. Few examples of Limiting Beliefs are- I am not good enough, I am not worthy, etc.. While the Reframing helps us change our perspective on the beliefs that could have generated in the present moment, Belief Changing helps us deal with the belief system that is not serving any purpose in your life, rather these beliefs are stopping you from making strong decisions.

Neurolinguistic programming creates an alignment between the outer world and the inner world which is your mind.

These are the different concepts of NLP which has a wide implication in your personal life and your professional life. I will be breaking down each of these concepts in my upcoming blogs. Till then, take care and stay blessed.
